Legacy Non-user sign ups and triggered emails

Hi, perhaps these features already exist and I missed it in the manual, but here are my requests:

1 - can it be made possible to have guests of the forum sign up to be on a mailing list? for instance, they just input their email and confirm it.

2 - can a templated email be triggered by another api call or mod? basically, I'd like an email to be sent to a particular mailing list when another mod or page requests it (which my coder will handle).

External mailing lists are a feature of the Pro version, however there currently exists no sign-up interface for external mailing lists, so this is something we'll be improving in a future version

Templates can't be triggered directly, as it's designed to let you edit a template / draft before actually sending it. However, your coder can look into the $_POST['action'] == 'dosendmail' in /dbtech/vbmail/actions/mailinglists.php file to see how to send a mail from vBMail
