Hi,

I have to move hosts and the new place doesn't allow for the install of any OpCache Operators.

Is there anything that can be used on a shared hosting platform running CentOS on Linux where I have no control to install anything?

Is there anything already built in that works or are all OpCache Operators add-ons?

(I am not a Linux guy)

Will my move basically make vBOptimize useless?

OR

Does anyone know of a good hosting company that doesn't charge too much who knows and supports vBulletin?

I also need a hosting company that will do the heavy lifting of moving my site for me.

Thanks,

D.

Hey there,

As a fallback filecache is always available, but isn't as effective as the dedicated operators. Are you moving to a shared server? Or is it VPS/Dedicated, typically hosts won't install anything on a shared environment, as for VPS/Dedicated it depends on their support, they may not install it but that doesn't mean you can't.

We can't afford dedicated or VPS hosting unless you know of a place we can go to that isn't overly expensive.

We are going to go to shared (Gatorhost it's looking like)

Unfortunately finding a shared host that would allow an opcache extension is a tall ask, shared hosts are restricted to maintain resources and security, so I'd be highly surprised if you found a shared host that would install XCache or the likes unfortunately (I know of none). As said above, Filecache will work on any host :)

It's been a long time since I looked up what's best with current hosts, I'd highly recommend visiting WHT: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/. Best place to look for new hosts imo, plenty of user reviews and special offers/discounts on offer from some hosts :)
