Legacy Edited posts - "thanks" disappears

Condition: A newer post has already received a few "thanks." The user edits the post and the "thanks" disappears.

Is this by design? Can something be changed so that "thanks" remain?

Most editing is for a typo, etc. It's a shame for a user to lose "thanks" just for fixing a typo.

I've been unable to replicate this issue, unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it.

I have noticed the same problem but "Thanks" come back after you refresh the website
