Question Database Error On Every Page Load

FYI - the 'Click here to buy' link for vBGallery on the main forum page doesn't work. It appears to be missing the product id number:

On to my issue, which really isn't a "How Do I?" issue but I'm not sure that it's necessarily a bug either, is that I'm getting the following Database error every time my main forum page loads (along with sometimes missing Gallery thumbnails):

I fixed the link on the forum page, thanks for the heads up. The error you are getting is server related, you can read about it here, MySQL Error Messages: MySQL server has gone away & Lost connection to server during query | vbtechsupport.com

If you have some missing gallery thumbnails, in the ACP Gallery section there is a Maintenance link that will let you remove any orphaned db entries. That's what causes the missing thumbnail.

Thanks, Dylan. My forum is pretty slow (in terms of member participation) at the moment, and I've only had 8 pictures that have been uploaded since installing Gallery. Sometimes the pics load under the specific Random/Latest areas, and sometimes they don't. I guess my server doesn't like the time it takes for the thumbnails to load and spits out a database error if it takes too long (which probably happens on 8 out of 10 page loads).

I went ahead and did the Maintenance procedure you suggested, but to no avail.

Ah, if it's just slow this might speed it up if it's not critical to hide the thumbnail links

ACP->Gallery->Settings->General Options->Image Thumbnail Type

Change it to physical image
