I'm not sure if this is possible or not, so I'm just going to say what I THINK should happen, and you can tell me to STFU or whatever. =)

I noticed that when I'm done playing a game, the only link back to the arcade is either on the navbar (assuming people have it there), or the breadcrumb.

When you click either of these, you get the "leave this page" warning popup.

It'd be nice if there was a button on the page for each game that says "Return to game list" or something that bypassed this popup from happening as I'm knowingly leaving the game.

Also, I can't see how to quit a game cleanly. Meaning, if I click either of the above links, then go into another game, it says "it appears you are already playing a game". Which, I'm not sure it'll never NOT give that warning now that I've played a game. There's probably some logic here I just don't understand, but... that's why I'm posting. =)

Possible to bypass the "Begin <gamename>"?

I'm not sure if it's a Mochi thing or not, but I don't think it is. But would it be possible to only display that if the "you appear to be playing another game already" condition is true? Otherwise, there's no need for me to read anything and the game should start up. Not to mention, it'll allow me to do something else why the annoying Mochi ads are playing. ;) Not a big deal at all, but would make the experience smoother if it's possible.

Mochi games are a bad example because they are meant to continue playing in case of sequential scores from levels or something.

I want you guys to see the effect from a "normal" game like v3/ib before i touch any part of this.

When a game has been exited cleanly (again, not possible with mochi games but a good effect with the others you will see) then you wont get the "you appear to be playing" message.

I cant blindly start a new session if it thinks you are still playing a game, because some scoring systems would break if you tried to play more than one game at a time, even if you continued playing the first one. So, this is to make sure you want to break the first session.

Plus, this preserves your stats so it doesnt think you are playing something if you just clicked to view the high scores or discussion.

Thirdly, this is a good "base" screen from when you are done playing a game :p again... the process for non-mochi games, where they have defined endings, is very nice as it transitions you to your new score, to submit a comment, and replay - all with ajax without reloading the page. So just wait to see that first

Will do, sorry for the bother of all of the posts, etc.. I just try to get all of my questions/observations out in the open, then let you decide what (if anything) needs be changed. =) I just figure it's better me (one guy) instead of a bunch of idiots (like myself) bothers you after release. It's a great product and I'm looking forward to seeing everything opened up on it!

Good deal, I just know how much I annoyed Bel back when he started vBShout, etc. (Well, I still annoy him, but... he's good with it now. heh).

Anyway, yeah, that was a lot cleaner and makes me hate Mochi games now (well, the ads suck too, but... you get what you pay for).

I still think it would be good to have an "I'm done playing this game, return to me to the games list" type of button though. Could be just me and I can hit the breadcrumb links no problem, I just know that most of my users have no idea what a breadcrumb is, let alone when to look for it and why they'd use it.

If you left a previous game without finishing the score of the old one, then it is intended behavior. starting a new session with certain game types will prevent them from linking back up if you do finish the first one.

Okay, I did some thinking on this, and i guess ill make some sort of "cancel and return to arcade" thing thatll be an obvious return to the arcade while stopping the session for when you are about to play something else, as well as bypassing the "accidentally leaving" popup. Three birds in one!
