Legacy email notifications for tags

It might be nice to have configuration via admincp and usercp to allow email notifications for mentions, tags, hashes, etc. That way a member that doesn't log in for awhile would get a notice they had been mentioned via email. But it would be nice to allow users the choice of whether or not to be emailed if tagged.

It's something we'll be adding to a future version - back when we tried it last, there were some problems with mail sending leading me to believe I was doing it wrong. Obviously with the advent of vBMail I've figured it out

sorry for the other thread! I think having such notification ... "facebook style" ... it would increase the forum activity a lot! To be honest I thought it was a "pro" features .. that's why i bought it. Anyway hope to see it soon!!!

Do we know where we are on adding the email notification functionality to the pro plugin? That was the reason we originally purchased it was because I thought it did come standard with the add-on.

As far as I can recall there hasn't been a major feature update for AUT since this request was put forward, it's definitely still on the cards

Thank you, Fillip H.. Is there a way we can pay for an update to AUT Pro? If not, do you have someone you would recommend for programming services to add the email notifications for this plugin? We need to have this feature and I'd like to see if it's possible to just pay someone to do it rather than having to program it ourselves.

May I suggest that upon upgrade, the system not automatically set users to receive those emails? My users were not happy when their email boxes were suddenly filled up with notifications!

This is the first time in we've heard any complaints about it, if we get several more we'll look into changing the default

For the time being though, we'd like as many people as possible to know it's there, since it was a very widely requested feature
