Why is this v4 exclusiveAre there plans to make this for 3.8?
At the moment there are no plans to release the mod for 3.8 - the reason is that 4.0 makes up a much larger section of our userbase and the mod would have to be pretty much recoded from scratch to work on vb3 as the postbits are completely different.
Sometimes we have to make decisions on where to focus our time, and in this instance the decision was made that postbit tabs for 3.x would not be an efficient use of our time - instead we are going to use that time to add more features to other modifications.
If we have spare time in the future, or there is a large demand for this mod from our customers, we will certainly look at it again =)

I'm a bit shocked that you have a larger vB4 base than a vB3 base. that's not really good news....

Guess that completely depends on which side of the fence you're on.
While I completely understand why people refused to switch to vB4, at the same time, no matter what happens, all of the new customers VB gets are going to be on V4 and the install base of 3.8 will continue to get smaller and smaller. This is regardless of which is a better product than the other, it's just what's going to happen.

Not really. Most people will either move to XF, IPB or another platform. A small portion that have no idea how forum software works or anything about optimization or programming will move on to vB4.
