Question Just purchased DBCredits - I do not see any way to allow people to buy via paypal

Well I appreciate your help.. after some trial and error I did find a link I can use that will take a user to a page which allows all of the actions available via the pop-up: /dbtech-credits/credits.1/currency

Is there a template that I can modify to make this link an addition to the navbar "Credits" dropdown?? That would effectively solve my concern and make the ability to interact with and/or purchase credits easier for members.

Other than that, I would ask if you had the interest or time to add such a feature but with XF2 out, I am sure most efforts are focused there as people move to the newer platform.

If you can help with how I can add that to the Credits navigation drop down that would be awesome.

Thanks!

Can you try turning off the "Display On Navbar" setting in your currency and see if that adds it to the navbar?

I went into the currency and removed it from the navbar, then went back to see if it showed any purchase options and still nothing appearing. I then tried turning off the sidebar, to see if that impacted the Credits menu selection and no change. Unless you're intuitive enough to click the credit amount next to "Credits:" there is no purchase option or no other option when you enter the menu than to just see what, if any, transactions are posted for your account. [I have left it in the NavBar off setting in case you review]

Upon review, I have determined that the purchase link in navbar currently is only designed to work when the navbar is in the "Right" position, e.g. where the Alerts / Inbox is.

I will investigate whether this is intended, but for now if you move the navbar to the right position that will enable the purchase display.

You are absolutely right it does work there perfectly! Unfortunately it does not show up ( just blank space ) before for theme optimization that area is only font awesome icons. If we could get that same functionality with credits being in the main navbar that would solve all concerns!! I really hope you can help...this is a great add on. Thank you in advance.

Or even if there were a way for me to display a "$" there or something as that section of my site only utilizes font awesome versus text.

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand. This mod has a "prefix" setting in the Currency options where you can enter a character (not a CSS class for FontAwesome, just a character like $ or £ or €) as prefix.

There is no plans to support FontAwesome prefixes for currency denominations at this time.

When the setting is changed to "Display" the Credits in the menu on the RIGHT where profile, conversations, alerts, etc. are it does not display anything. There is simply a blank "space" that doesn't show anything until clicked in. So now $ shows up, no word Credits, etc. Also, we do not use wording in that area - if you review the site we utilize wording in the main nav bar to the left but images only in the nav bar to the right.

Is there anyway possible for you to make a small hotfix that will allow complete functionality (e.g. purchase) when Credits is selected to appear in the main LEFT navbar....?

I can send screen shots if you need additional information. It is important that end users are able to easily understand how they can purchase credits to use in your credit related products as well as other add-ons that allow for your credit integration.

Thanks in advance, Fillip H..

Sorry, but that is not possible to add in a hotfix. Significantly changing the menu to accommodate such a feature would need to be a full update, which is not something I have time to do at the moment.

It would likely be weeks, if not months, until I would have time to do this.

I understand, but I am still at a loss because as is it is not functional when people cannot purchase credits from it and if it needs to be in the visit nav panel where it does not display. Perhaps some other owners who are utilizing it can chime in and provide their insight in how to get it operational for our end users. At least having that link working which makes the pop up to purchase appear helps... I can add a quick link for it from the site, so that will hopefully squash any immediate concerns. I know you are very busy, so I appreciate your time and depth in answering support questions and challenges. At some point I will have everything on XF2 and likely even more full featured than XF1 allowed for. Thanks Fillip H..

Last credit question: To disallow members of staff to have the ability to earn credits from event triggers - when I set up an event and say I make it available to "Registered" members - will all members with registered even if they have, for example, "Staff" secondary permissions still receive credits? I use primary and secondary but if credits is looking at primary only than I can modify my team members appropriately. Thanks and please no rush to answer it's not a major issue, whenever you have the time.

The user group selection box does work for both primary and secondary groups, yes. Selecting Registered but not Staff would not stop anyone in the Staff secondary group from triggering the event.
