Hi! I may be missing it, but I just purchased DB Credits and yet I do not see anywhere how I can set up to allow people to purchase credits via PayPal. Can someone help guide me a little bit here? Thank you!

Create a Purchase event :)

Well that sounds easy enough! :-) I am using it, among other things, in collaboration with Raffles - what is the table designation for credits, I assuming it is likely just 'credits' but wanted to be sure!

Now off I go to create a purchase event....and learn this product. It has a ton of feature!

By default, the points table is xf_user and the points column is dbtech_credits_credits - you can confirm this in your currencies page :)

I'm really at a loss.. I will research forums but I have made my event trigger for purchase, but there is no option anywhere to actually DO a purchase. You click on "Credits" it just goes to an empty page with no options. There are no drop down options from the Credits navtab .... I am at a complete loss for how users are able to purchase credits for their wallet?

Sorry I am so complicated :(

Have you also configured the user group permissions for the mod?

Yes. There were not a lot of usergroup options to configure. As administrator I have access to all the user group settings and am still not seeing any where to 'purhcase' credits. For my Registered users out of:

Stop All Cancelable Event Triggers
Show Inaccessible Currencies:

Can See Private Currencies:
Can Adjust Currencies:
Can View Any Transaction Log:
Maximum Charge Tags Per Post:

I am not exactly sure what to give them, that is why I am testing as myself (Administrator) will all options allowed.

Thanks for helping.... cause I am at a loss.

You should not use the "Stop all cancelable event triggers" as this will prevent those users from triggering ANY events. If this is enabled for your administrators, that is why they are not earning any credits as it is impossible to earn credits with that turned on.

Okay I set that to no. What options should regular members have to be able to benefit from event triggers and standard activity? I did adjust it for my administrative account - however - that is still not changing the challenge that there is no where to purchase credits. They are active, set up, I cannot see anything I may be overlooking for there is no way to buy them. That is what I need the most help with....how do I set that up, where do people buy them and so forth?

also...if an add-on like Raffles for example is looking to see if a user has enough 'credits' to take from to get a raffle ticket .... would it be looking at dbtech_credits_credits to gather that information? That is what made the most sense to me, but even for that, they need to be able to purchase credits first....and that is where the challenge has stopped us.

by the way it defaulted to user not xf_user but it seems to already know to put the table prefix (which I see is also a setting in the currency tabs) infront of user -- because while sitting here testing until we can figure out what is happening I changed it to xf_user and but an SQL error that xf_xf_user did not exist.

I'm at a loss and we are supposed to be launching a raffle today...

Regular members don’t need any of those permissions. For the purchase event, also make sure that you have set up a payment profile in XF2.

Then, you need to select that payment profile in either the Event Trigger settings or Event settings - I forget which.

Once this is done, the Purchase tab will show up when clicking the currency.

When setting up a whole new system, it's usually best to give yourself more than 24 hours to make sure it's all working, it's not really possible for me to complete troubleshooting in that time.

This is XF1. Okay so Regular users are just set to "no" - events are created for various activity on the site (https://titanx.games) ... the I think that is what's missing. We have a payment profile set up in XF1 for account upgrades we sell, but no matter where I click (throughout the Credits application) where it has anything for me to say "use this payment profile."

I have updated to your most recent fix.

Everything is checked at "active." I will feel like a complete idiot if I am over looking something simply, but I have read the resources discussion forums and combed through it .. so I just don't see where I am missing "turning it on."

I created an administrative log-in for you, because I don't know what we may be missing. I can email that to you...if that will help?

As it turns out, it was as simple as the fact that you had no transactions to display so therefore no currency links were displayed anywhere. I turned on the "Visitor sidebar block" display, and if you click the 0 in the image here:

You'll see this popup:

Then click the Purchase tab:

And there you are :)

At this point it is past midnight so I won't be able to answer any further questions until tomorrow.

Thank you I appreciate it assistance... sorry if I kept you up - that is a huge help. The clicking on the amount of credits is not intuitive to end users. Is there a link I can utilize to send people directly to purchase credits? Other than that I THINK I pretty much have all the other functions work.... I set up some events, as you've seen, so I view what happens as people post, etc.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you. Sleep well!

It's past my bedtime too and I am getting tired myself ..and forgetting things I meant to ask... if I want to change the navbar "Credits" to something else.... is that changeable via phrases? I've gotten almost all the wording switched that I needed to modify but I cannot seem to find that one particular one..which could be due to being tired! Have a good rest and a great day...

You can try manually copying that link and inserting it in other locations, but it's not intended to be able to access the currency menu anywhere other than via those links.

Yes, that was my first attempt, but since it is a popup it's just MYURL/#purchase and that doesn't work. I have even tried using the add-on URL path. There are no locations though, the only way to get that purchase pop-up to open is by clicking on the amount of credits in the sidebar.

Where is this other location you mention? There is no option, still, to purchase credits under the "Credits" navigational button. The only available way to access any interaction with credits is through clicking the amount of credits in the sidebar as above.

??

The postbit is another location. Everywhere (outside the navbar, because you are using the credits in navbar display) where the currency from Credits is displayed there will be this option.

This is working as intended currently.
