Question Adding a direct link to the profile "thanks" tab

Since we had complaints about the "thanks notifications" I disabled that plugin.

I'd like to add a direct link from the from to the "thanks/likes" tab in the profile but I'm unclear on how to do it.

I have no problems creating a link, but I need help creating a link directly to that tab.

How do I make a link that will take users directly to that tab?

I'd already tried that (literally using the [uid] - right?) -- it just takes me to a page that says:

This user has not registered and therefore does not have a profile to view.

I need for it to take any logged in user to THEIR thanks tab.

No, [uid] means the user id.

So, if I create a link and put my uid in there, and people click on it, they'll end up on my profile page looking at my "thanks." I want a link that, when people click on it, they'll be taken to the "thanks/likes" tab on their profile page.

I'm unable to help with that any further than I have, unfortunately.

I don't know what variable would equate to their userid, so it's something you'll have to look around the template and find out for yourself

Thanks for trying anyway. I'll just add this as a suggested alternative to the "notification" approach. Our people don't like to have "you have a new thanks" notification every time someone thanks them for a post, but they would like a one click path to the page where they can check thanks received. My idea of creating a new tab with such a link solve that.

An alternative approach would be to move the "thanks" tab in the profile to first so it would be the first thing they would see when they click on their own profile.

After some searching I came up with a partial solution. An easy to add plugin will cause the Thanks/Likes tab to be selected by default when a user clicks on "My Profile." Having manually added that simple plugin gives my users one click access to their "thanks" even though the Notifications plugin is deactivated.

Just replace "aboutme" in the example with "thanks."
