Legacy Access rights of the categories

in my forum a new user group has been created.
As you so determined has we have a lot of categories.
Is there a way the new user group the same rights to enter as another existing user group?

Oh yes that would be perfect.
An authorization system similar to the vBulletin Forum Permissions with heredity might be quite good.
