Pending 'Thank you' button or something to show appreciation?

Manually locating donors and sending thank-you messages can sometimes be tedious. Would it be worth creating a 'Thank You' button in the donation log? This button, when clicked, could send a notification to the donor confirming their donation has been received. The notification could function similarly to thread reaction notifications, such as 'User has reacted to your thread,' but instead, it would reference the donation.

Just a thought...
Some users leave messages with their donation, it would be nice to.. reply to it somehow and have them see it. I'm not sure what the best incorporation would be.. but yeah.
