Hivelocity Questions

Was really hoping to get a couple questions answered. I've noticed this site 99% of the time seems to load super fast.
I have a vBulletin that just basically started out as a hobby/something to play with but somehow it now grew to usually 75+ people online at all times

(try not to laugh too hard here) I use GoDaddy shared hosting and my server load is usually somewhere between 30-60 with spikes up to 70
I'm pretty much convinced their service is good for nothing more than online storage at this point
Where's your guys server load usually at?

Basically I just want to ask is Hivelocity good to go with?

Is the 1Gbps connection a huge difference over the 100mbps?
I'm considering the 1gbps with 2TB transfer

I noticed they have a configuration with a DBTech mod coupon. (Which is how I found them, through you guys) Is that coupons always good anytime as long as I am on their servers?

Where's your guys server load usually at?

We currently have 3 servers with them; 2 web servers and 1 DB server. They're all interconnected by a private network switch and dedicated LAN-only 1Gbps NICs. Their WAN NICs are 100Mbps.

One of the web servers powers about 5 sites, one of which is a very large and active site with over a million posts and around 40 concurrent users & guests at any given time. Its server load is currently sitting at 1.42, 1.46, 1.26

The other web server is where DBTech resides, and its server load is currently sitting at 1.01, 1.35, 1.48

The DB server powers the MySQL databases for both web servers, and its server load is currently sitting at 0.16, 0.12, 0.09

Obviously your mileage may vary, but as a rule unless you have eleventy bajillion concurrent users, you should be well within acceptable parameters if you go with a server that's kitted out in one of the newer generations of CPUs.

I've no experience in Gbps output tbh, but even in our biggest traffic spikes, none of our servers have seen traffic higher than 30 Mbps.

Unless you are running a download service, I believe you should be fine with 100Mbps. There's always the option of upgrading later by putting in a support ticket, one time we wanted a CPU upgrade and they had it done in 20 minutes. By comparison, in 20 minutes I would have just about figured out what's the CPU and what's the box it came in
