5.2.2 Weird Style Issue in IE

On IE, the Time, name and the text are all on new lines. All of my templates are reverted to default and I reuploaded the product to make sure. In Firefox it's working and looking just fine.

I'm not sure how long it's been a problem, no one using IE bother to mention it until today!

That's a known issue, it's because IE doesn't follow web standards when they deal with borders and page widths.

To fix it would mean causing other browsers to see the new line starting "before" it's strictly needed... I can try to hack it for IE but it's not a high priority since it's just a small cosmetic issue that's really a browser bug

wondering if there is any update on this? it seems like IE8 works fine, however IE7 this issue still exists :| or at the very least a way to disable shoutbox for IE7 users as it seems to mess up for formatting for some of the pages on our site under IE7

I don't have IE7 or IE6 to test with, so I don't know if there's anything more I can do about this =(

well the thing is it gets a bit annoying for IE7/6 users.. apparently the entire site keeps 'refreshing' itself every 5 seconds now with the shoutbox, which I am guessing is the shoutbox refresh even if we cant fix it.. is there a way to just simply disable the shoutbox for certain browsers that don't support it.

I'll look into an edit to the JS code that'll prevent it from loading for those users, but I can't guarantee that it'll work properly...

Why don't they upgrade to IE8 (or if they're in a business environment, use Portable Firefox)? It's just not feasible for us to support old versions of software that the developers themselves support, unfortunately.
