I installed DragonByte Tech: Gallery (Pro) 1.3.2 and all seems to work. I was able to upload
an album with pictures and no problems. I then tried to import using the Gallery Import.
It knew I had a gallery, imported all of them but when it came time to importing the images,
I got these messages for every image it was trying to import:

Importing...Please wait until the importer has finished.
File not found!! - 937.jpg
File not found!! - 941.jpg
etc......

This points to a problem where vB album gallery graphic images all have a .picture extension
as opposed to .thumb and .attach in the attachments collection. Since I was able to upload and
view images, I think the permissions should be okay.

What's the solution as I read thru the forums and no one else reported this problem?

Thank you!
Rick

It was vB3 a few years ago, (even vB2) if I remember correctly. We have just installed updates
as they come along and here we are at 4.2.2.

Hmm... Is there a way to move albums to the database? That might get the import flowing again.

Looks like it may be under Attachments, you'd need to move attachments to the DB, import, then move it back to the file system.

Hmm... If you upload a new image to the vB Album, does it still have the .picture extension?

I took a look around. The files in the Album directory have the .picture extension but there are no
new files since 2010. New vB album images are indeed going into the attachment directory.

Well that's problematic. I don't know how to work around that to be honest, and I strongly doubt that moving attachments to the DB would fix it either.

I found a table in the database called "picturelegacy". It provides the translation between the old
pictures and the attachments where I assume they were copied when an upgrade was done.

Okay, now we're getting somewhere. I'll investigate whether this table exists in a non-upgraded install. If it doesn't, I may need you to show me the table structure so that I can determine how the relationship works.

What I will then be able to do is code an update to the importer that checks for entries in that table and import them as needed.

I can't guarantee when I will be able to look into this, though I will keep this tab open to remind myself. Thank you for your patience and understanding :)

Update: I was able to do a successful import of vbalbums. I regularly copy the live database to
my beta system and forgot to change the attachdir. 8-(
Good News: I am now able to successfully import images from screen shot forums into the dbgallery.
Question: How do I put ads in the right column of the view_image page. It doesn't appear to use
forum blocks or cms widgets. I searched the forums and surprisingly found no reference to showing
ads in the dbgallery. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Sorry, I missed this :(

dbtech_gallery_view_image is the template containing this block :)

I have made quite a few changes to that template. I didn't know if there was a easy way
to put widgets or forum blocks in the column. So I just pasted my into code to the template
and all is well.
Thank you for the reply,
Rick
