Fillip,
I just purchased the Mail plugin for Xenforo 2.2 and have a couple of questions on use and setup. My intention is to add an email tool for a couple of our moderators to use when necessary. I hope I didn't misunderstand the capabilities of Mail

When we do a mailing, we would like that mailing to go to a specific user group. Two things
a) When I build a new mailing list on the Admin side if I want the email to go to a specific usergroup, how do I enable that? Do I select the 'auto-subscribe" or what
b) Can new mailing lists be built on the front side or do all have to be constructed/ enabled on the Admin side?

Do you have any sites/threads/tips to understand the setup and functionality of this plugin?

Thanks

Paul

For this, once you have created the mailing list in the AdminCP, go to the Permissions link in the list to get to this screen:

Then ensure that only your chosen user group will be able to subscribe to the mailing list by setting "Can subscribe" to No:

(Note: If you select "Never", someone who is a member of that user group will never be able to subscribe, even if they are a member of another group that is explicitly granted permission. Use this option sparingly.)

If you want to auto-subscribe the members of a particular user group, set that setting to Yes. Once you have set up all of the permissions correctly, scroll down to "Tools" and click "Rebuild caches" (admin.php?tools/rebuild), then choose this option:

That will complete the auto-subscribe process and members of relevant user groups should show up in the "Users" list :)

b) Can new mailing lists be built on the front side or do all have to be constructed/ enabled on the Admin side?
The administration of lists (setting it up, permissions, etc) happens entirely in the AdminCP, but the actual sending of email happens only in the front-end. If you have staff members with this user group permission:

They do not need to be granted access to the AdminCP in order to send a mail to a mailing list :)
