Would it be possible once the full version is released that editing the .htaccess file is not necessary?

It may be difficult for some end users to understand how to do this.

It is very much required or theres a big mess to keep after, using vbcms will interfere with scoring, and live install wont work. Most users who arent using an htaccess file can just use the supplied one, instructions for merging with an existing one is not hard, and helping people do it otherwise is not a big deal.
