Question Can't install due to MySQL version

I'm trying to install the latest version of this plugin but keep receiving this error:

This product is not compatible with version 5.0.96-community-log of MySQL

Is there any way to get around this?

You should really really upgrade to a version of MySQL that's actively supported by MySQL. The version you are running is not secure, is no longer supported and as such may have multiple unpatched security vulnerabilities. Not to mention using a modern version of MySQL will have a positive effect on the speed of your site.

There is no reason to be running 10 year old software.
