Final request of the day! Thank you for bearing with me as I procrastinated for the past few months and my list built up a lot. I'm planning on using vbdownloads live in the next month or so when our new game goes live and people want to share their game mods, and all the requests I've posted here are what I think would make the product perfect for both of us. Anyways, on to the final feature request!
This ties in to the automatically generated threads that can be created via the category settings. In my previous request I asked that the first post be updated whenever the file description is edited. This time I would like to ask that a small notification post be made whenever a new file is uploaded to the original file listing. This would help as another method of notifying users when a file is updated. DownloadsII's Create Thread modification already does this, but it does it whenever a file is added OR when the description is changed (even for typos) which I feel is a bit excessive. At worst, for lack of any other update notification system I felt this would be the easiest one to implement for the time being.
