One of the most widely wanted and not implemented needs for vBulletin are the social networks... It seems many forums have lost a lot of their members to them!
One of the main reason vBulletin didn't get connected with them other than Facebook connected was most likely out of fear and development costs...
When vBulletin added Facebook connect there was a huge outcry from a number of customers complaining they didn't want the social media being part of vBulletin most likely because they have seen a decline in member activity...
Now obviously that was a huge mistake leaving the social media out of vBulletin!
What I would like to see is better social media connection... I would like to post a link to a forums in a Facebook page and have it grab an image from that post rather than just showing a link or icon... This isn't about my abilities to just create it myself this is about random people doing on their Facebook page...
I think if a Product/Module was created to not only work well with Social Media but implement accounts and connections on the website as well there would be more people wanting to be a part of the website that had this connection...
What I see is most likely a lot of work but if done it would be amazing....
The part two would be groups on the site where people could ""Re-group with Friends"" on the website who are already on Facebook, Google+, Twitter and Steam or whatever...
Show other people who visit that the site is full of friendly people who are friends with one another is a great and warm way to make it easier for other people to want to connect to your website...
I would like to dump vBulletin's groups idea as to me they are ok but they never did anything for my forums and they were a pain to get people to join them... I am sure someone worked really hard on it but administrating them just is a mess for me...
What it needs is a way for admins to just take the lazy people and put them in the groups they need to be in regardless of what anyone thinks it needs to be there!
I could go on but not going to make this a crazy long post...
