Question Pre-Sale Question: Does the "Welcome" activity exist in the XF version?

The vB version has a "Welcome" activity which was triggered when a user entered a specific usergroup. I don't see that on the list of activities here. Specifically, I'm looking to have this activity trigger when a user group promotion is used. Is this possible?

Unfortunately that event doesn't exist in the XF versions, sorry.

The user group promotions were very unreliable in the vB version, and while XenForo is much, much better at managing user group changes, the possibility of the same problems occurring still exist (f.ex. third party products not changing the user groups properly).

I was testing with the vB credits for a while and somehow got it to work. (Seemed to not work at first, kind of like you're saying.) I used usergroup promotions to do it, but it doesn't necessarily have to be connected to them. Basically I'd need to give credits to users who have been registered for x days. Would an activity that looks directly at time registered (or possibly other things like posts) be possible to add to the XF version?

That would probably be best handled by the Paycheck event in conjunction with your promotions.

If you add users to, say Veteran Members at X days registered, then set up a Paycheck event limited to only this user group and with Maximum Applications set to 1, then in theory it should pay them that event's amount once and never again.

I'll have to give that a try. One of the reasons I didn't use that with the vB version is because time-based activities like birthday didn't seem to trigger all the time. Maybe this works better with XF events. I don't have XF, but I'm looking into it as an option for the future. Thanks.
