Question Not a supported file type (allowed is gif, jpeg and png)

I've set the instance to include all image types but when I try and upload any of the image types I get the error Not a supported file type (allowed is gif, jpeg and png).
In the header I get a PHPO error:
PHP Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: Filename cannot be empty in ..../dbtech/gallery/includes/class_core.php on line 2198
I have set the upload directory to 777 and double checked the instance settings.
What could it be?

Can you please attach a copy of an image you are attempting to upload here so that I can test it?

Here's one of the images. I've tried png as well but get the same result

I'll look into that once we've resolved the other gallery issue since it's more pressing (and may be related)
