Really pleased with the shop but can you tell me, other than modifying the database directly, is there an option in the shop to reward users by granting points or penalise them by removing points?

No, and it's highly unlikely this will be added to vBShop seeing as it's not intended to replace the functionality of a dedicated points mod.

This is possible in at least vBCredits II Deluxe if you use that to integrate vbshop
