Question Is there a varibable for the number of users in the chatbox?

I would like to display the number of users in the chat box in the navbar next to a link I created to get to the chat box. Is there a variable that contains the number of users (total) in the chatbox?

I don't believe that's an exposed variable at the time, no.

I'll look into changing it for 5.4, but no promises
