Awhile ago I decided to open my downloads section up to the public. Now it no longer requires a login to download any files.
What I want to cut down on is people linking directly to file downloads on my site from another site. I thought about going back and requiring a login and I may if I can't find a solution. I just want to stop external links directly to my file downloads.
I was thinking if code could be added to check the referrer when a download is initiated and if the referer is not the site the download resides on then instead of allowing the download, redirect the link to the download page. This way I can at least get the person attempting to download the file from my site to actually visit my site first.
