We're currently testing a new Branding Free system for our vBulletin 5 Connect mods in order to make it more difficult to simply guess the Branding Free keys, as the pirates were fond of doing.
What this means for you, our legitimate users, is that we will be introducing a requirement in order for Branding Free to work on our vB5 mods:
You will need to re-download the modifications while logged in with your forum account, re-upload the files and re-import the XML file, then notify me privately so I can assign you a vB5 Branding Free licence that you have a corresponding vB4 Branding Free licence for.
If you are using Branding Free on a Lite version of our mods, you will need to ensure you are using the Lite version from DBTech and not from vBulletin.org.
Over time, once we've properly tested this system, we will be rolling it out to our vBulletin 3.8.x / vBulletin 4.x.x modifications as well. This will necessitate an update of the Global Branding Free / Copyright Management mods. We will aim to roll out all these updates over the same day so that the impact on your forum will be minimal, but that may end up being logistically impossible.
