vB Optimise Pro 1.6.1 Update

We've released a minor update to vB Optimise Pro. This is a maintenance release which resolves some minor bugs and strengthens some operations. Existing customers can grab it in the Members Area now.

Update Details

- Added more automatic flush rules surrounding styles to ensure no stale data is being served
- Added password protection option to resource statistics XML Feed
- Fixed a bug surrounding the caching styles only admin viewable
- Fixed a bug with Template Compression, it has now been staggered to stop php timeout errors
- Fixed potential error showing if eAccelerator could not flush and the operation wasn't flagged as silent where a specific Admin function wasn't available.

How does this affect page speed. This bug did not affect me. Is this on the one time "compress templates" option or on each page load?

The compression strips white-spaces, you do it once and it's saved to the database/cache, not in realtime. The bug itself came from users who had a large amount of templates - the compression operation in the ACP would timeout so now the ACP operation is staggered so that doesn't happen. The feature itself is designed to shave a few bytes off your bandwidth
