If I understand correctly the next version of DBT Mail will implement functionality to revalidate a segment of user emails. IIRC this will be based upon the previous validation result.
I'd like to suggest functionality (re-)validate email addresses based upon user criteria. To illustrate:
I'd like to be able to validate emails of all users that have posted, user status is valid, are in the usergroup 'bad email domains' and have not visited in the past month. This is useful because its exactly these users that can get email notifications if they receive a reply to their thread. Therefore this group are much more likely to get a high number of bounces.
There are different scenarios thinkable to where a combination of various user criteria are useful to select users for re-validation. Being able to manually set such user criteria would be really useful.
If its not possible to implement this, then an alternative solution could work: the admin adds users to a usergroup according to user criteria. Then have functionality to revalidate all users in this usergroup.
