Question User title changes not working

In Xenforo permissions registered users are not allowed to edit their user titles. But when a registered user purchases or gifts a user title change there is no effect on the user title.

What permissions need to be set in order for purchased user title changes to take effect?

There is nothing preventing custom titles from working when that permission is turned off. This can be down to a few things:
1. Your skin does not display custom user titles
2. The user title did not save when users configured the item due to censored words or banned words being included
3. They didn't actually configure the user title item
