Bug Slow Loading

Hi,

My gallery is causing pages to load slowly. The green rotating circle Windows displays will display for 30 seconds or more and then displays the favicon when complete.


Is this due to the size of the images or normal? It appears something is wrong as to me it indicates the page is taking really long to load.

I'm not getting the same problem. I went to your page and loaded that same image and it takes about 3-5 seconds to load the whole page. If you log out and do it as a guest, do you get the same load time?

I just discovered and checked on two different computers. One windows 7 and one vista that the problem occurs in both Chrome and Firefox but not Internet Explorer. I also get a load time of about 3 seconds in IE. In both the other browsers I am seeing 30-40 seconds with the green rotating circle when logged in and not. At times I also get broken pictures in Chrome and Firefox.

This is what happened to the pictures in Chrome after loading for 40 seconds. The pictures were visible for a period of time and then broke.

It loads up fine for me in both FF and IE. When I look at the forum home the gallery images actually load faster then the forum list. Did you try what I suggested? Log out and see if that makes a difference?

Yes Dylan.....I have the delay both logged in an guest. It happens consistently with Chrome and Firefox

I'm not sure what would be causing that. Do other users have the same problem? I'm getting a normal load time in both IE and Firefox.

I've updated this to a "Bug Report" as it wasn't really a "How Do I?". Sometimes, your site will load more slowly than others - even across different browsers due to differences in rendering.

Are you still experiencing slow loading?
