Bug php errors when i turn vbseo on

when i turn vbseo on i get white pages and this error

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function hash() in /export/home/aulro/public_html/afvb/dbtech/dbseo/includes/class_db.php on line 391

turn it off and all works fine

php version is 5.2.9

running on Solaris with apache

just attempting to upgrade from vbseo which was running fine and used the import vbseo option, but problem exists with either default setup or imported setup

This function is built in to the PHP Core since PHP 5.1, but you can try pecl install hash and see if that resolves it for you.

If not, please try upgrading PHP to 5.3, 5.4 or (preferably) 5.5.
