Question Issues with setup of sitemap and google

I just switched over to this software, I formally used VBSEO. I have set up the ./store_sitemap folder to 077 as per the instructions.
Googlewebmaster tools has my sitemap located as per VBSEO at ....sitemap_index.xml.gz now when I add one to ....dbso_sitemap_index.xml it comes up with this error,

Sitemap is HTML

Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.

Am I doing something wrong here.

The correct way to refer to the DBSEO sitemap is domain.com/dbseositemap.php

Delete the vBSEO sitemap from GWT and readd that one (adjusting for your domain and forum path, of course)
