A new option in the userCP (user tagging settings) to not show Mention/Tag/Quote alerts just from users on your ignore list.
Yes while there is a restriction to make it 'friends only', sometimes you just don't want a few users to be able to spam alert you.
As it would be very difficult to get every single person you'll ever talk to on your friends list.
