Question How is it possible to sell memberships based on their duration?

Hello, imagine there are 3 different membership types. Like Plus, Gold, Premium.

I want to sell Plus membership in 3 different ways. Like 3 months, 6 months, 12 months. However, when I do this in the license area, I need to add an additional user group. Instead, I want it to be added to the main user group.

When I create a direct "membership" sales product, I cannot set the membership period. What do you recommend other than creating a license product so that I can set the membership period?
 
You should not modify the main user group, that is a really bad idea. In either case, it is not possible to modify the main user group using this (or any other well made) addon.
 
So do you suggest that I sell a membership type as a license so that I can add the option to sell it for different durations? Because when I do this, I have to manually change the main user group since the main user is the "expired member". I want his membership to be automatically upgraded when he buys it.. Whatever membership period he bought it for..
 
It doesn’t matter what the main user group is, XenForo always applies the most permissive permissions. For instance, if Registered can’t view a forum but Premium can, they can still view the forum.

You can sell what you want to do via the user upgrade integration, you just have to rethink your setup to fit with XenForo standards.
 
I understand, it is not possible for me to diversify the membership duration options without changing the main user group. Instead, it seems more appropriate to sell as "license" and promote to additional user group. Thank you.
