How do i use the auto complete feature?

I write a name but it doesnt autcomplete

Can you please confirm whether you are attempting to type a username in the "User Tag List" above the posts, or if you are trying to use the @ mentions feature in posts?

There is no auto complete for mentions. The auto complete is for thread tags.
