eCommerce vs Resource Manager

I plan to start selling some of my addons soon and need to license either eCommerce or RM. My question is what does eCommerce have that RM doesn't? I have only seen the frontend of both so apologies if the question is silly to someone that has used both.

The Resource Manager does not have the ability to accept payment, and also does not have the ability to generate downloads from a folder on your server (can be useful if you want to have f.ex. the ability to strip branding automatically on download like we do here - requires custom eCommerce extensions).

The RM also does not have license management with renewals.
