I've just opened the floodgates for one of our most exciting updates yet: Advanced User Tagging v3.0.0 (Beta)! This is available to download for all Pro customers right now, and features many enhancements to existing features as well as some brand new ones.
The most exciting update is the hash tags, which has been almost completely revamped. First off, you no longer need to use a semicolon - ; - to write a hash tag: #winning <-- see?
In addition, (un)subscribing to a hash tag to receive notifications whenever it's used is now simply 1 click on the hash tag's page (which you can see an example of by clicking the link for the #winning tag).
The other major new feature is email alerts for all four features: Mentions, quotes, thread tags and hash tag subscriptions.
For our vBulletin 4 users we also have a new widget for the Forum Sidebar, which lists Recent and Trending hash tags. Trending hash tags are the most frequently and diversely used hash tags, calculated based on a formula that you have control over the stat weights for in the widget configuration.
Of course, we brought you quite a few convenience enhancements as well, such as mobile style friendliness (mentions and hash tags work when posting), no more mentions within quotes, and no more notifications for anything happening within forums the user cannot see.
Hopefully that has convinced you that this update is the best thing since sliced bread. If you were previously on the fence but have been convinced, now is the time to act - the price will be increasing when the mod goes Gold. The Gold version is expected to be released next week.

- Globally disable emails for any of the 4 features
- (Pro) Per-user email disable for any of the 4 features
General Features:
- Ability to disable Thread Tag list entirely for guests
- Globally disable any of the 4 features; Mentions, quotes, thread tags and hash tag subscriptions
- (Pro) Ability to Mention and Thread Tag whole usergroups by typing their name. Per-UG permission to disable Mentions / Thread Tags for this UG.
Changes / Fixes:
- Mentions no longer trigger within quotes
- Users will no longer receive notifications for Mentions, Thread Tags or Hash tag subscriptions triggered in forums they cannot access
- Mentions will now correctly appear within the mobile style
