Bug Error

Hello, I keep getting an error that I need to upgrade but there is no upgrade options of files. Then underneath the error it says, to delete the following file from my server: data/dbtechShopUpgrade.lock if i think it's an error. but everytime i do the site breaks.

Once removed, the site shows an error and a blank page. The error code is 500, and it claims a file is missing. The file is 404.shtml
