Hey all,

After over a week of development coupled with bugfixes for vBDownloads v1.4.0, we're releasing vBDownloads v2.0.0 Beta 1 to Pro-only customers running vBulletin 4.x. This version contains all-new features aimed at making it easier for administrators to delegate certain responsibilities to users that may not be trusted with full FTP / AdminCP access.

The main feature in this version is the ability to import files from the file system. Unlike normal downloads, or imports from DownloadsII, files imported in this manner are not copied or moved from their original locations. However, you still gain the full benefit of the location masking that normally uploaded files receive.

Another major feature is the ability to allow users with a special usergroup permission to create their own categories. They will receive most of the editing options you as an administrator do, with some exceptions. Additionally, all categories created in this manner are placed under moderation, making them inaccessible to your normal members until you have approved them.

Additionally, Mirrors can now be replaced by images, and the mod now counts mirror hits as your users click them.

If you like the product you can show your support by nominating it for mod of the month here: vBDownloads v1 (vB4) - vBulletin.org Forum or here: vBDownloads v1 (vB3) - vBulletin.org Forum, and also please rate it to help cancel out the users who 1 star our mods.
