Bug Avatar not showing

We have user which username is =^..^=
This is valid username and the user is using it for a long time.
When we start using vbSEO plugin the user's avatar is no longer working

The problem is that the url of the avatar image is changed by the plugin
The url now is "/avatars/-?dateline=1452768200" http://gfy.com/avatars/-?dateline=1452768200 which is invalid and empty 1x1 image is shown.
We see similar problem with other users which username contains special characters.

when the plugin is disabled the avatar is working fine using image.php file http://gfy.com/image.php?u=8869&dateline=1452768200

I have tried to disable image.php URL rewrite, but it is not working
in General Setting -> exclude pages I added:

image.php
image\.php*

but the url is still changed

Hi there,

There's two ways you can resolve this:
1. Either change your custom avatar URL format to include the User ID
2. Or disable the Rewrite "Avatar" URLs setting

The second option would ensure compatibility with every kind of user name, and is what I would recommend :)
