Bug vBDownloads uploading screenshot and thumbnail do not display correctly

When uploading an image for a download, Selecting it as a screenshot works and shows the screenshot, but when you click the screenshot to display it in a new tab, it links to the No Image picture, not the screenshot.

Also when setting an image as thumbnail, it never shows anywhere, only shows the No Image picture.

I followed the included instructions to set the /dbtech/downloads/picturestorage/ CHMOD to 777. I also applied it to all files and subfolders. Did not help.

In the vBDowloads settings, I have it set to the default vbdownloads and vbdownloadsimports folders found in the forum root, also CHMOD to 777. I see the screenshot and thumbnail in there that were uploaded, so it is writing correctly to that folder. Just never shows like it is supposed to.

I notice the thumbnail is linking to the No Image thumb in the /dbtech/downloads/picturestorage/ folder, but not the real one in the vbdownloads folder.
When inspecting that element, it shows:
Code:
<img src="http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/dbtech/downloads/picturestorage/thumb-5.png?d=1450428929" alt="Thumbnail" style="border: 1px solid black;" width="100px" height="100px" title="Thumbnail">

Is this a fresh install or an upgrade? If it's an upgrade, can you please confirm that no vBDownloads templates have been customised?

Well I installed the 2.4.8 Lite version, but never touched it. Then bought the 2.4.8 pro version cause of the xmas sale, and installed over the lite version.

So it's not an upgrade over an old version, but it is an upgrade over a lite version.

No templates have been modified until now where I only removed the welcome screen.

Could you please create and PM me with a temporary FTP and AdminCP account?

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new FTP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues.

The same applies to AdminCP accounts; they should ideally be temporary accounts created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorised user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the FTP account has access to the forum files, and that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it :D

Hi there,

I am unable to replicate any of the issues you're reporting. Can you please go to /vbdownloads.php?do=download&downloadid=6 and inspect this for yourself and see if you can reproduce the issues you're reporting?

Hi

I see yours worked, but not sure why mine didn't. I tried it again and same thing:

Goto /vbdownloads.php?do=download&downloadid=5 and you will see thumb is set and not shown.

Could you please attach the two images you uploaded as thumbnail and screenshot here so I can try reuploading them?

I deleted the thumbnail and the screenshot and re-uploaded them, and they appear to work correctly now. Please feel free to let me know if this happens again or if it was just a temporary issue :)

I just tried another download by adding a screenshot and thumb and it worked fine.

So if you didn't do anything, I'm not sure what changed that it works now.

Thanks for your time.

Offtopic, but where do I edit the colors for the sidebar as they are hard to read and don't match on my dark theme, see attached.

I think I found it:
dbtech_downloads.css
#sidebar_container .blocksubhead {

Too bad it doesn't pull the same style elements from the theme like the rest does. I'll have to manually edit them.

Only color I can't find is to change the white background behind the text. I found the white between each widget, just not the one behind the text.

OK, got it now, had to add the background color to that element as it wasn't defined.

Are you supposed to be able to upload an image and click both is screenshot and is thumbnail and have it show as both? I'm trying that with /vbdownloads.php?do=download&downloadid=7 and it's only showing as thumbnail.

No, it needs to be one or the other. Sorry for the confusion :(
