I never liked the built in ranking system for vbulletin, and apparently after searching through vbulletin.org I am not alone.
I had the idea to base rank on the same criteria found in this product (posts, replies, reputation, referrals, etc.). The idea is to have different usergroups for each rank. Each usergroup has different permissions/priveledges. When a member reaches a certain number of vBActivity points, they automatically move into the appropriate usergroup and gain that usergroups permissions.
Would this be difficult to implement? Basically something along the lines of "if this many points, move to this usergroup."
If it was something easy to add on to the existing product I think it would be a great idea seeing as how there are no mods for alternative ranks.
