Could someone help me create a formula that would simply make the shipping calculation work something like this:

Item weight X a flat amount per unit of weight

So if 3 items were in the cart it would work out like this:

Item 1 -W = 0.5
Item 2 -W = 0.2
Item 3 -W = 3.0

(0.5 * 2.5) + (0.2*2.5) + (3.0*2.5) = 9.25

Sorry for missing this :(

I don't understand what you mean by "a flat amount per unit of weight". Could you clarify, please?

In the example I posted above the cost to 1 unit of weight is 2.5. So 2.5 * W would give you the shipping cost. What formula could I put in the shipping calculator to give this result:

Item 1 -W = 0.5
Item 2 -W = 0.2
Item 3 -W = 3.0

(0.5 * 2.5) + (0.2*2.5) + (3.0*2.5) = 9.25

I believe the answer would be w * 2.5.

In your example, the value of w is 3.7, and 3.7 * 2.5 = 9.25.
