2) We've never had complaints of vbshout detracting from actual forum posting - it is limited in that only people on *right then* can reply properly. In addition there are lots of features to encourage posting within the mod, such as motifications when a thread is replied to etc.
Many sites find that it makes their members much more likely to stay on-site rather than talk with their forum friends via MSN etc - which obviously leads to them posting more often. It will, as with all mods, depend on your particular community.
Technically you could make it so that is all the shoutbox can be used for - automatic updates of threads from certain forums being created/replied to =)"
- We have only the VB forum script containing Groups and not blogs, but we have also added the Photopost module. So:
- Now, can the 'Shoutbox' be adjusted so it shows, from all forums, automatic threads and replies updates, as well as the latest groups and photos added etc.?
- Can it then be made to appear towards the top of every page of our forthcoming website www.ukmoney.tv?
- (Basically, can the custom module appear across the website so where ever a member or guest may be on the website, he can see the Shoutbox?)
Please clarify.
Regards,
O.H.
