The sideblock is tricky sometimes. If you can give me a temp admin account I will login and see what's wrong with it.

Not really sure about that. Could you tell me what sort of things i should be looking at in the ACP?

Does it work below the navbar/below active users?
If it does then for sure it's something with the sideblock.
You could go into the sideblock manager, edit the spotlight entrie and save it, sometimes the cache doesn't work right and you have to force it to recache the spotlight block.
It could also be something else conflicting, just hard to tell without knowing what's installed, how it's configured, etc.

It seem to work well in the other two locations...I have also noticed issues on the sideblock with permissions.
Was the sideblock issue solved? maybe in the next update?

In EasyEasy's case, it was conflicting with the vb.org mod called Sidebar Anywhere. He wasn't using it to put the sidebar anywhere else so once he disabled that it showed up in the sidebar.
