This mod is not showing and thanks or likes, installed, enabled it. Not sure it works on vb5. What is gong on?

We have not been able to test our vB5 mods with later versions of vBulletin 5, due to being busy with our vB3/vB4 commitments. I believe I explained this in the AUT thread.

Am I therefore to assume you've tested the Lite version and you're discovering issues after upgrading to the Pro version?

Crap, well they shouldnt be here then. I didnt know none of them work without your support involved. Ill just request a refund and wait till it is vb5 compatible.

I enjoy your mods and work but you are basically lying to people saying they work on vb5 when they don't. They are expensive as well, I dont mind paying for a product that works. Please remove them from your store if you know they don't work or you haven't tested.

I'll still see if I can find any issues with 5.0.5, I was wondering if it was a Pro-only issue or whether it also affected Lite :)

With all our mods, including vB3/vB4, we strongly recommend testing the Lite version before installing Pro. We have no way of testing our mods with every combination of other mods installed, server configurations, forum versions, skins, etc.

By testing the Lite version, any reported issues can be addressed prior to purchase, and the customer doesn't have to feel like they "wasted" their money.

Some people are less than polite when it comes to addressing issues in mods they paid for, and sometimes seem to forget that the person they're being rude to is in fact a human being as well.

They do, just not necessarily on newer versions of vB5.

Please understand that with every new version of vB5, they make vast, sweeping changes under-the-hood, either to CSS or to the API itself. We would be losing literally thousands of dollars if every month we dropped everything we were doing and spent a week fixing up our mods to work on the latest version.

Does that mean we should not put them up for sale? Not in my opinion - not everybody rushes to upgrade.

As I explained in the AUT thread, our vB5 mods are flagged as Alpha. To quote the relevant part of that Wikipedia article: Alpha software can be unstable and could cause crashes or data loss.

Update: I am unable to find any issues with this mod in vB 5.0.5.

Please PM me with the updated AdminCP and FTP details for your forum so that I can look into this issue for you.

The issues have now been taken care of on your forum.

There was an incompatibility with the horizontal postbit display style you're using (vs. the "legacy" style we're using here on this forum). I have made changes to the mod that corrects this for all display styles.

I have several questions. If you could answer. How could I disable like button? Why am I able to like or see the like buttons on my own posts? Just tried a test account as a regular registered user, when I tried to like a post nothing happened, didnt work. Also not receiving emails when your did the test like, just a PM.

Another issue, when I log out and back in, I am able to like a post more than once. Screenshot attached.

Way too many bugs, Id think a refund might be better until you iron out the mod.bugs.webp

How could we see how many likes/thanks a user has given/received in their profile?

First summary of testing:

Users can see the thank buttons within their own posts, these should be hidden
Buttons not working on posts outside of the first post in a thread (but are viewable just not clickable)
No e-mail notifications are being sent
No profile stats

These are big concerns before with move forward with smaller bugs. Will continue to test.

When I go to search settings I get:
Fatal error: Class name must be a valid object or a string in
/public_html/forum/core/vb/db/query.php on line 259

Before I go back to check on your site & the issues reporting here, I'd just like to touch on a few points:

No, they shouldn't. The buttons are not clickable (they have a special CSS class that indicates they are disabled), but the button display is mandatory in order to provide the pop-out bubble that lists the number of users that have clicked the buttons.
Without the buttons displayed, users have no way of seeing who clicked the buttons for their posts.

No profile stats
If you look at this page: Advanced Post Thanks / Like (vB5) - DragonByte Tech | vBulletin Mods & Addons you will see that "Profile" is listed under "Missing Features". This is not a bug, vBulletin 5 is missing the required template hooks in order to implement profile stats. This is a known issue that is scheduled to be fixed (or has recently been fixed) - I reported the issue in the vBulletin JIRA Issue Tracker myself :)

That's because the display is different. A lot of people have requested a similar display to the vB5 version for the vB3/vB4 version, so it's not unlikely we'll be switching to such a layout in the future :)

To re-iterate: The buttons should not be hidden for the user who owns the post. They should be un-clickable, but they should not be hidden.

Ok, understood. Keep me posted on the buttons not working after first post and e-mails. Thanks.

Any estimated time on when this profile page stats would be added in? I'm sure users would like to see stats. Havent looked at the JIRA you reported on vb.

Please confirm whether you're now receiving emails, I've made a similar change as the one I made to the AUT plugin.

The un-click issue has also been resolved, I was unable to replicate any issues with buttons past the first post.

This appears to be a bug in vB5 when disabling a product. I have rebuilt the bitfields and the settings appear correctly now.
