    Default No receiving emails

I've been testing out VBmail for a month or so, and it had been working fine.

But all of a sudden, I'm no longer receiving my test emails that I send to any of my test email accounts.
I haven't changed anything on my end, so not sure what could be going on?

Any ideas of things to check?

    Thanks
    Chris

    Hey Chris,

Could you please check your user account in the AdminCP and make sure the Bounce Flag isn't set to yes?

    Do you mean this setting?
    Enable Bounced Mail Handling Yes/No

It's currently set to yes, should it be no?

So what I'm finding is, that it seems that it randomly will send emails out to my accounts.

I can send 5 email campaigns but only 2 might actually go out. Is there a way to see why/what is causing some to not actually go out?

No, I mean the setting in your user account. User Manager in the AdminCP -> search for your user name.

There are a number of reasons why this can happen. If your domain has a hourly limit for emails, depending on how the server is set up it may discard the rest of your email.

vBMail uses vBulletin's email queue system, we do not actually control the sending of mail. This is delegated to vBulletin (and from there, your server), so unfortunately there's no way to generate mail delivery reports in vBMail.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help

I don't think I"m hitting any limitations on the server, my forum is pretty quiet right now.

But I did noticed something interesting.
On my test send list, today I noticed it says that there are 2 unsubscribed now?
    unsubscribed-backend.PNGunsubscribed.PNG
But if I go into the admin panel, and try and view who is unsubscribed to my test list. Nothing comes up?

How can I find out which one of my test emails are unsubscribed? And why did it happen?

I'm not rightly sure why it shows 2 users if noone is actually unsubscribed. You can correct this counter by editing the database table dbtech_vbmail_mailinglist and setting the unsubscriptions column to 0.

An example query for this is
    Code:
    update dbtech_vbmail_mailinglist set unsubscriptions = 0 where mailinglistid = 1
Replace 1 with your mailing list ID, and add the table prefix if necessary.

As for the email sending issue, the forum activity has absolutely no bearing on whether your server has a hourly email limit set up. If it does, you would not be able to send any further email whether your forum has 1 or 1 million users active

Can you please check this with your host?

I talked with my hosting company, they raised me from 500 per hour up to 1,500 per hour. Still seeing the same results, even though the program says it's sending the emails. I'm not receiving them most of the time on any of my test accounts (gmail, outlook, and even my own personal email systems). For some reason it's not sending on most of the attempts, seems to be random.

    Hi Chris,

I would strongly recommend switching to a hosting company that does not impose a hourly restriction, as sending email via vBulletin under such restrictions means you cannot guarantee email delivery.

To re-iterate, it is not vBMail that sends the email, vBulletin does. You can try reducing the amount of emails sent per batch, and ensure that email queuing is enabled, by altering the relevant settings in the "Email Options" group in vBulletin Options.

I'm still not convinced it has anything to do with the host. All other VB mail notifications work as intended, I get PM notifications right when I send them. Everything else has always worked with my site.

I've been doing more testing, and it appears that when the mail has HTML, is when things get flaky.

When I send a test email, with nothing but 'test' in the body. I've been receiving them. But I have not been able to get an email with the following HTML for 2 days. I've sent it over 20 times and not getting it on any accounts. I even sent a test with 'test' in the body, sent one with the HTML, and then another with 'test' in the body. I received the 2 with 'test' in the body, and not one with HTML.
