Customer
I will start this thread with Cosmic's answer before few weeks ...

The forum system means customers with the same/similar issues can easily find the solution to their problem - most of the time the issue is something simple (e.g them forgetting to set their user to super administrator to see the options), and if we had to answer the same questions over and over again instead of people being able to read them in the forum support would take two or three times longer than it does now, and we would never release any updates.

I bought vbQuiz and paid 29.03. 2013...downloaded product version 1.2.7 and installed on my main site and I get "similar" problem like one customer 31.10.2012 with product version 1.2.5 - http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/f93/vbquizz-menu-showed-two-time-9583/

In meantime you had 2 product updates and did not fixed "similar" problems. I must read back posts 5 months old. Did you think that is ok? Want just simple answer from you.

You mean that customers should go back 4 - 5 months to found "similar" problems - in my opinion You should upgrade products with those "similar" problems. Now is my question - are you really serious company what take care about your customers and their time and money? (We customers also pay taxes for Your company what is very unusual - You have no taxes for profit - we pay all)

I'm not sure what you mean by that last part - we still pay taxes on our profits, our customers do not pay those. The only taxes charged to our customers is UK VAT which we are required, by UK law, to charge all EU customers.

Regarding the problem you reported, I checked the link you provided - the solution was provided there.

I'm not entirely sure what the issue here is. Someone had the same issue as you, we gave them the solution, the solution works for you as well. Can you please explain what part of that makes us "not professional to customers"?

Thanks,

Cosmic

Part that issue should be fixed in 2 updates between product version 1.2.5 and product version 1.2.7 what I purchased 29.03.2013. Post with issue was posted 31.10.2012.

You do not think that issue should be fixed in those 2 versions between - 1.2.6 and 1.2.7 and I should not need go back 5 months to read solution?
Solution was provided for product version 1.2.5 - now is new one - 1.2.7

Solution (fix) should be added in new product versions - that I mean.

What is point with new versions (product updates) when we must read 5-6 months old posts for found similar issues?

Not every "issue" is a bug that can be fixed in a product update.

There will be times when two mods, due to the amount of customization involved in both, have conflicting options. To "fix" this would mean reducing the amount of flexibility/customization in one of the products.

Instead we provide a fix for the people who have both products, without reducing the functionality available to people who have only one product or the other :)

I think the support provided is very proffesional, I've found that any thread I post gets prompt responce(even lite support) - within a day, no two enviroments are the same and things can't always be expected to work off the bat, the fact is that if you ask for a problem to be fixed it is done. This is the reason I favor Dbtech mods over all other Plugins out there.

I'd be quite surprised if you could find another plugin Dev who would be willing to go onto your server and troubleshoot the issue for you(as DBtech does do if they can't diagnose the problem from your descriptions) hence I consider DBtech to be the epitome of Proffesionalism.

I did not write anything bad about quality of support. I just wrote that "bug" double navbar tabs should be fixed in newer versions. Now is vers 1.2.8 and still same "similar" problem like was before 6 months ago (ver. 1.2.5).

And double nav bar tabs is bug. (one unnecessary plugin is activated - should bi not)

I get the feeling you didn't quite understand my last post, so I will try to clarify a little.

It's only a "bug" if you have a specific setup. If we made that plugin disabled by default all the people WITHOUT that setup would have reduced functionality and/or issues.

Basically if we done what you are asking, lots of people who don't have any issues would suddenly have one. We did explain that already but it seems the language barrier means you didn't understand. Let me know if you still don't understand and I will try to explain it more for you.

For future reference, asking WHY an issue exists so someone can explain the reasons to you is much more polite than simply accusing a company of being unprofessional. We're always more than happy to answer any questions/queries someone may have.

Having people falsely accuse us of being unprofessional or somehow ripping our customers off regarding tax makes us sad though, and we would appreciate it if people refrained from doing that :)

Thanks for explanation ..maybe my English is not perfect but I understand You...maybe You do not understand me and what I mean.

If one mod or one product or one application what is made for vB 4 makes 2 nav-bar tabs for same functionality - should every product make the same? Especially when coder said self that he forget to put "auto fix" in his product.

I can not accept that I must go back 6 months and found solutions for some issue what is clearly "bug".

Also I did not write that Your support is bad or no good or no professional - I just write that customers want buy - download - install and use product without issues and do not spent hours and hours to read old posts. Also should be professional to put issues like that in readme file and explanation what to do for fix.

It doesn't actually make two for the same function - it's an issue brought about by various factors (e.g vBulletin changing their navbar setup in vB4.2) which means some people running some versions of vBulletin in some circumstances will end up with two navbar items.

Regardless we have come up with a way to code in various checks to try to serve a different version of the code to people depending on their vBulletin version. This new feature should, hopefully, prevent the situation you are describing without causing issues for people running unaffected vBulletin versions.
