I have purchased more DBT mods and requested many features too. But I have no idea when they are gonna be fulfilled. I wonder if they are gonna be fulfilled or no. Some mods are really very much incomplete e.g. Advanced registration.
Sometime I feel DBT is very much professional but I hope it won't forget to give importance to the customer who already purchased the mods for 3months. So, when the mod is updated with requested features, the customer can get the update too. Otherwise, small earned forum cannot survive costing big money. Anyhow vbulletin is neither cheapest nor the cost to run a vbulletin forum can be run in cheap system.
I wish DBT will think about it to facilitate customers to get the feature update anytime that they requested.

Sadly it is physically impossible to update products as soon as they are requested by customers.

There is also no fair way to make it so customers can receive updates for free when the features they request are added - someone could simply make a feature request every few months to receive free updates forever.

In addition to this it seems counter productive that after we add more features to a mod for a customer - the features they asked for, that they should then get that for free despite not paying for a longer license. We're doing something for them, it doesn't seem fair that they should get the mod AND the stuff we just done for them for free to me.

If there are features missing from a product that you feel are essential you can suggest the feature before purchasing - when it comes to making the mod we don't differentiate between features suggested by customers and those suggested by lite users, every feature is judged on its own merits :)

We offer several license lengths so people who want to receive the updated versions of the mod can pay to ensure they receive them, we also have license renewal options so if you are low on cash you can simply wait until the features you want are added and then renew your license :)

If all the updates were offered to people with 3month licenses, there would never be any reason for people to buy longer licenses. 3 month licenses are for people who just want the product as-is. It has 3 months of updates so people who buy just-released mods receive all the updates that come out during the first couple of months of release.

Mr. Cosmic,
hi there. Thank you for your reply. Yeah, I had a dealt with you while purchasing first mod. I liked DBT works. Most of our site mods are from DBT. I put my feedback here in the point of a new site. Not all forums are able to survive with donations. Again neither I like to see your hard works get nil value by offering free service. I wanted to say, if I get benefit using your mod, I must to appreciate by purchasing your mod or donating you. But some people really try to give something back but they may not afford to do that by money.
Thank you.

Thanks for the response :)

I understand where you're coming from completely - I was just explaining the company position on it and why it works the way it does.

I would suggest grabbing vBDonate to help with your donation procedure, a member here IcEWoLF noticed using it instead of another donation system increased the number of donations he got significantly - they went up to around $4500 in one year if I remember correctly :)

Yeah, I did not notice that there is an opportunity to put my feedback here. I was just blindly coming here for my own needs.
Well, I have plan to go for your vbdonate mod in future. But I have a request, that is if you can open the professional sections for your premium customers even they did not buy the mod. It will help them to decide or put feedback on/for their desired mods.
I wish you will consider it.

We already take requests made in the lite forums under consideration. The features requested there get the same attention as those made in the pro forums. When i go through my list and decide which features go in and which don't there is no difference between lite and pro requested features, they are all judged on their own merits.

Opening the pro forums up to lite customers would cause issues when providing support, since we rely on knowing straight away which version someone is using to accurately give help, so it's not something we will be doing unfortunately.
