I see that I am not the only one with this problem. For months now, I have been battling it out with vbulletin support, as well as with my hosting company about this, and until now no one could find the problem. I was thinking it is one of those weird things that only happens on my forum. (I have a lot of them....lol)

But today, I saw it happen here as well. When I download something from here, I cannot browse the forum until the download has completed. I never realized it before, I think it is because most of your products downloads fast because they are not so big. But with vBDonate it took a bit longer. And the entire time downloading this, I could not go to any other page. I also see that the little downloading window is also exactly the same as on my forum:

Normally when you download something this window has different information. Like the size of the download, and the time left and so. But also on my forum, it is like this.

So now...what can cause this? Do you guys perhaps know? Is it one of your mods causing it? Or maybe Sphinx? As I see you have that installed here too.

This is one of the biggest issues I have on my forums, so if you guys perhaps know the answer to this...man, I will jump up and down for a week.

Thank you so much!

Thanks Fillip. Well maybe someone else also have this issue, and can shed light on it. It is really a big problem on my forum, as I have pretty big downloads. I will start disabling products tonight, and check, maybe I can find the culprit.

I tested it myself and it works for me, so in my opinion it is browser or PC related.

The browser is downloading the file through its download manager or window, so this excludes it being a site issue. As the site doesn't have a download manger which bypasses the browser entirely. So it's not a script that is overlaying the download on the screen like a popup or anything similar.

If your browser is set to always display downloads or certain windows on top of all windows, this is probably the cause. Other then that it could also be PC performance or Security Software. Scanning the downloads and freezing the browser as a result.

But given what i know of Web Development and how sites work, it's very rarely going to be a site issue.

My 2 cents would be to test another browser or PC under default settings, latest version of Chrome, IE, FF or Opera is also recommended.

I also tested this on my tablet, which isn't by any means fast and uses chrome. It also worked fine for me.

Hope this is of some help.
